UNWRAPPED’19 marks 10 years of the festival, and for this year’s event the Unwrapped Team took as their inspiration an award winning animation by artist Majid Adin, an Iranian refugee now based in London.

Majid won a commission from the Elton John Foundation to reinterpret the song Rocket Man. He worked in partnership with Irish animator Stephen McNally to create a profoundly beautiful and moving animation about a refugee’s search for safe passage.

Majid’s story is truly extraordinary, and during a recent visit to Tallaght he gave a talk to students from TU Tallaght about his incredible story and his work.
