Unwrapped 2010 was a performance in two parts with both open-air and indoor performances and events. Through a specially made landscape of images, music, performance and dance, it celebrated work created by local artists and groups of all ages. Unwrapped marked the lighting of the Tallaght Christmas Tree by Mayor Eamonn Maloney.
The outside performance was designed to lead the audience through a specially made landscape created by artist Maeve Clancy, choreographer Louise Costelloe and musicians Michael Fleming and Gerry Horan. Featuring young dancers from 5th class in St. Colmcille’s SNS, Knocklyon. Due to adverse weather conditions St.Colmcilles dance performance was moved in to the library, and was followed by an outdoor screening of the animation.
Following the animation there were special performances of song, dance, music and magic in RUA RED’s Gallery One, including piper Martin Nolan; singer Phil Callery; music and dance of Gandarbha from Nepal; Killinarden Community School Mandolin Ensemble with James Ryan; Animotion Dance Company; Dizzy Footwork Dance Academy; Unison Intercultural Choir, Clondalkin; Sounds Ensemble; plus magic by Brian Daly with Carousel Theatre School, Tallaght Youth Theatre, Encore Performance Group and St. Kilian’s Junior Choir, Kingswood. The Dublin Gospel Choir topped it all of with an incredible performance.
