Audio Description available for UNWRAPPED 2013

DSC_6480 The Creative Team behind UNWRAPPED is delighted to announce that audio description will be available for the 2013 performance.

Audio description refers to an additional narration track intended primarily for blind and visually impaired consumers of visual media (including television and film, dance, opera, and visual art).

It consists of a narrator talking through the presentation, describing what is happening on the screen or stage during the natural pauses in the audio, and sometimes during dialogue, if necessary.

Bríd Ní Ghruagáin is an experienced audio describer with Arts and Disability Ireland who has been working with us on UNWRAPPED 2013 and will be providing audio description for the event. Bríd is also Director of Tí Aitreo a professional drama company committed to producing new Irish-language work in theatre, on radio and on television.

For further information on the audio description available, please contact Victoria Durrer, South Dublin County Council Arts Office at 01 414 9270 or vdurrer@sdublincoco.ie.

UNWRAPPED 2013 would like to thank The Square Shopping Centre for its generous support of this year’s programme.

The annual UNWRAPPED programme is developed by a creative partnership between South Dublin County Council Arts Office and Corporate Services Department; South Dublin Libraries; Tallaght Community Arts; Alternative Entertainment; Contact Studio; Civic Theatre, Tallaght; RUA RED South Dublin Arts Centre and South Dublin County Music Education Partnership. It is supported by the Arts Council, the Square Shopping Centre and Monastery Music.
